About Us

Introducing The Black Grocer

Founded in 2024 as a sister company to Yeshua's & Co Ltd, TBG is more than just a name— we are defined by the quality of our products, not by labels.

At The Black Grocer, we’re reimagining what it means to shop for premium food. Born from a bold vision rather than frustration, our business was founded to demonstrate that minorities can not only compete with heritage retailers like Fortnum & Mason or Harrods—but surpass them, especially in the digital realm where their presence often lags.

We’re an upmarket grocer driven by quality, provenance, and a fearless commitment to excellence. Every product that we sell online is curated with care, reflecting our belief that luxury should be modern, meaningful, and unbound by tradition.

Despite what our name may suggest to some, The Black Grocer is not an ethnic minority business. The name represents confidence, boldness, and sophistication—a tribute to timeless taste with a progressive twist. It is about reclaiming space and setting a new standard, not reinforcing assumptions.

Our mission is simple: to deliver an elevated grocery experience that blends indulgence with accessibility, where artisan staples and emerging producers meet curious, discerning palates.

We’re not here to follow. We’re here to lead—and we’re winning every time.

In the coming weeks and months, you’ll find an exciting array of carefully selected products on our website.

Our Products

Fresh Meat

Our meat is responsibly sourced, ensuring compliance with our Responsible Sourcing Standard. Most of our selection is British, and we never purchase animals from livestock markets. Instead, we rely on known, trusted suppliers who guarantee full traceability back to the farm.

  • veal is British and high-welfare—raised in spacious, straw-bedded barns with access to outdoor yards. We do not export or slaughter male calves at birth.
  • chicken is sourced exclusively from UK family farms that prioritize low stocking densities and optimal welfare conditions.

Our Products

Fish & Seafood

Fish & Seafood:

All our seafood is responsibly caught or farmed using environmentally friendly methods. We partner with fisheries and aquaculture farms that share our commitment to sustainability and animal welfare.

  • Our seafood is fully traceable, ensuring transparency from catch to the checkouts
  • Aquaculture farms must maintain high standards for both fish health and environmental preservation.
